Around the Puget Sound, Seattle Washington, USA PNW AES Meeting Notice September Meeting Wednesday, September 25, 2002, 7:30pm An Evening With Greg Mackie Mackie Designs 16220 Woodinville-Redmond Road Woodinville, WA 98072 Some time ago, the Los Angeles section started a series of meetings called, "An Evening with ___________." They used it as a way to let their section members meet some of the many audio luminaries in their area. The meetings have been quite successful, and a few of them are available on videotape from the Society. If you have ever owned a Tapco mixer, AudioControl equalizer, or a Mackie mixer, then you've got a piece of Greg Mackie. Arguably a local if not an international success story, Greg has made his mark in the world of audio. Appropriating Target's slogan, "Expect more, pay less," you would have to agree that this has been applicable to everything made by any of Greg's companies, from the first Tapco 6000R mixer to the Mackie D8B Digital mixer. The success of these products comes from the recognition of a need, finding a way to fulfill that need at an affordable price, while offering a solution that works far better than you would expect. At this informal evening, we'll try to get stories from Greg about his various companies, the NW audio business, and the state of the universe in general. There should be plenty of time for audience Q & A, too. Join us on September 25th for an informative, funny, and illuminating evening with Greg Mackie. Directions From Seattle: Take SR520 or I90 to I405 northbound Take Exit 23/SR522/Woodinville Follow the directions from "At Exit23." From Eastside/North/South: Take I405 northbound or southbound as appropriate to Woodinville Take Exit 23/SR522/Woodinville

At Exit 23 Follow SR522 eastbound and take the first Woodinville exit. At the end of the exit ramp, go to the right (132nd Ave NE). Stay in the right-hand lane. Turn right, on NE 175th Street. Cross the RR tracks, turn left onto NE Woodinville-Redmond Road. The factory is located about a mile south of where you turned left, on the left-hand (east) side of the road. There are two buildings with a broad green stripe around the upper perimeter. Turn left, between the two buildings. Drive through the parking lot until you are forced to turn left or right. Turn right and park anywhere in this area. The meeting will be held in the south building. Look for the large rural mailbox at the curb, near the front door. There will also be AES signs about.
